Fast-growing service line with many high-impact initiatives planned for the next 3-5 years. Under limited supervision, manages the daily operations and pharmacy personnel of the Home Infusion Pharmacy team. Assists in developing and implementing department-specific goals and objectives to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of Home Infusion Operations. Assists in implementing goals and objectives as they apply to the mission of the system pharmacy enterprise for quality pharmaceutical care services.
Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Manages daily operations of Home Infusion Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians with respect to the goals and objectives of Home Infusion Services in collaboration with the Director of Home Infusion Services and in accordance with generally accepted pharmacy practice.
Reviews department performance, effects changes in collaboration with the Director of Home Infusion Services to improve services provided and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Participates actively in the development, planning and execution of goals and objectives of the department. Leads planning and implementation of new departmental programmatic or technological initiatives.
Performs various leadership, administrative, and managerial duties, as follows: Acts in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of the department and pharmacy system enterprise. Maintains established departmental, state, federal and local laws, policies and procedures and generally accepted pharmacy practices.
Coordinates and participates in the preparation of sterile admixtures, dispenses all pharmaceutical and related supplies in accordance with federal, state and local laws and standards of practice which govern the pharmacy profession.
Interprets and enforces established department policies, procedures and objectives, performance improvement program initiatives, safety, environmental, and infection control.
Assists with and ensures the maintenance and care of department equipment and supplies. Maintains department records and files.
Attends meetings as required by department leadership. Participates on various committees representing the department and operations as needed.
Responsible for the operational and informatics support of procedures and automated programs involving interpreting orders/prescriptions, compounding medications, checking for danger/toxicity of ingredients, label, package medications/ pharmaceuticals and dispense them.
Communicates with nursing and medical staff concerning prescriptions, orders, drug and pharmaceutical detail, patient reactions, errors, complaints, and various related information in order to provide optimal patient care. Advises physicians on drug interactions, incompatibilities, and appropriate modes of therapy on the use of medications, dangers, side effects
Education: Licensure by the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy is required witin 6 months of start date. Masters, doctorate or doctor of Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Science degree from a college or university accredited by the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy is required.
Experience: Minimum of three (3) years clinical pharmacist experience is required. Minimum of two (2) years supervisory/managerial practice experience is preferred.
Licensure/Certifications: Licensure by the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy is required.
Preferred: Completion of a heath-system pharmacy administration and leadership residency program accredited by the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists. Experience in outpatient and/or home infusion pharmacy setting(s).
