Position Summary: The Pharmacy Technician assists in performing manipulative and non-discretionary functions associated with the practice of pharmacy under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This is a staff level position working under direct supervision of a pharmacist. Work situations are a variety of routine duties and functions that require organization and attention to detail. Internal contacts basically consist of pharmacy staff, nursing staff and management. External contacts include physicians, physician office staff, and patients. Float Acute Care Pharmacy Technicians will float between the Puget Sound Region MHS inpatient pharmacy settings. They are initially trained in standardize workflows require competency in USP 795, 797, and 800 at each location for sterile and non-sterile compounding activities. Those who provided pharmacy coverage at Wellfound will require additional training.
Minimum Requirements: Pass pre-employment calculation exam. Two years hospital experience preferred
Education/Licenses/Certifications: Successful completion of WA Board of Pharmacy approved Pharmacy Technician Training Program Current Washington State Board of Pharmacy Technician License Successful Completion of National Pharmacy Technician Certification Program preferred
