You Will Be Responsible For:
Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in: • Standard work parameters • Operational programs • Delivery and compounding systems • Hospital computer systems • Medication ordering systems
Job Summary:
Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists and provides distributive pharmacy services. To provide safe and accurate medication services and to support all those involved in direct patient care. The Pharmacy Buyer/Pharmacy Technician III performs a wide range of supportive duties to assist the Pharmacist in preparing and dispensing medication so that patients receive consistent care. Duties include transmitting multiple drug orders, reconciling, and receiving invoices. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining inventory system accuracy, data integrity, local level audit controls and inventory levels to prevent product and/or supply stock-outs. Coordinates pharmaceutical product recalls, all reverse logistics activities and annual inventory processes. Participates in pharmaceutical sales representative activities within the facility and prepares periodic purchasing reports as directed by department management. Works only under the supervision of a registered Pharmacist and does not perform duties that can only be legally performed by a registered Pharmacist.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
• Buyer or purchasing experience in a pharmacy or medical related field • Associates degree in related field
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
• Applicable State Pharmacy Technician Registration (RPT) • If applicable to facility Sterile Compounding Certification
• Current certification from Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or from the Institute for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ICPT)
